Hi class,
Just a reminder of our class discussion today- please review the handouts of restatements and paraphasing. Bring in an article from CNN Student News. Write a paraphase for one or two of the paragraphs in your article. In addition, read paragraphs #1 and #2 in exercise 7-3 on page 221. Write a paraphase for each paragraph. I will also be giving you a quiz Friday on chapter 7, "Understanding Paragraphs: Supporting details and Transitions."

Hi Class, just a reminder for next class on 10/14. Review chapter 6 in your textbook. I'll be giving you a quiz on chapter 6. Choose one of the two articles at the end of chapter 6, "Eye Communication," or "Don't Ask." Use our WH-Questions reading strategies to find the answers to your articles' questions. Also, apply the K-W-L reading strategy to write a reflection of what you know and learned about the articles you chose in chapter 6. Post your comments on your blog.

Hello everyone. I like that you're commenting on each other's blogs and having fun doing so.And although many of you are using much humor to explain how you feel, I would appreciate you trying to be a bit more serious, because some of your topics are serious, such as the Swine Flu, city floodings, fires and the Afghanistan War. All of these issues are important. So, please keep your since of humor and have fun on your bloggs. However, try to be objective and true to the topics you are reading.
